Fort Walton Beach Developmental Center is a community-based, twenty-four hour immediate care facility focused on the developmentally disabled population of our area. It is our goal to provide instruction that will allow all of our individuals to lead as productive and independent lives as possible in all areas of their daily routines. In addition, we offer physical, nutritional, and occupational therapies to thosee individuals who qualify for these services.
This facility takes a team approach in determining training and service needs for those who reside here. Off center activities are scheduled to provide needed recreation and socialization, ensuring a more normal, well-rounded lifestyle. For those in need of behavioral management, the facility offers professional services with team-approach monitoring and intervention.
Many of our facility individuals gain further instruction and socialization through an off-site training program. Here they have the opportunity to fine tune their motor skills and inprove their abilities for daily independence. In addition, they enjoy recreational activities along with art, music, and the opportunity for community contracted job positions.
Fort Walton Beach Developmental Center is located at 113 Barks Drive, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We are situated between Gulf Coast Treatment Center on Mar Walt Drive and Eckerds Drug Store off Beal Parkway.
